Between having a baby and a full wedding season last year (2025), my engagement session blog posts have been a bit behind. But now I’m back and ready to share all of the goodness the internet didn’t see yet! Starting with, Angela and Ryan’s engagement session in downtown Detroit!
Leading up to their session, we had a planning call to go over locations, outfits, and the feel they wanted to achieve. I love when couples have a vision for their session, know their style, and are excited to collaborate and bring it to life with me! We started at a fan favorite, the Detroit Institute of Arts. This location never disappoints and photographs beautifully no matter the weather or time of day. Even though the DIA has always been one of my personal favorite downtown Detroit engagement session locations, I think I may have a new contender! We drove across town to the newly restored Michigan Central Station which was absolutely breathtaking. They did such an incredible job preserving the history and charm of the building while giving it new life, and those enormous windows made for some truly epic photos.
Angela and Ryan get married this May at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth, Michigan and we are so excited to celebrate such a kind and down-to-earth couple! They are the kind of couple that instantly make you feel comfortable, and our two-hour session somehow felt like it lasted all of ten minutes because conversation with them came so naturally. Sessions like this are such a good reminder that some of the best photos come when people are simply enjoying being together, and these two made that effortless. I already know their wedding day is going to be such a special, meaningful, and holy day!
Congrats, Angela and Ryan!
