Amy and Sonngy’s April wedding day began at The Townsend in Birmingham, Michigan, where everyone prepared for the festivities of the day ahead! Amy and Sonngy met during college in Georgia, where Sonngy joined the Spanish club, just so he could talk to a cute girl named Amy. From there, it was history! We had such a powerhouse team of talented professionals along for the day, which made it go so smoothly from start to finish! It really makes such a difference in everyone’s day, couples and vendors alike, when you have a team on the same page. We were also thrilled to spend the day alongside one of our favorite Catholic wedding videographers, Isaac Ross, whose energy and creative eye always make the wedding day better!
Amy and her father departed for the church in classic style, which was one of the day’s most memorable details! Kimberly and her father, the duo behind Motor City Vintage Car Rentals, really tied together Amy and Sonngy’s classic wedding theme with a vintage 1940 Detroit Packard. Their Catholic wedding Mass took place at the breathtaking Sweetest Heart of Mary in downtown Detroit. Every time we walk into this magnificent Polish parish, it feels like stepping into heaven! The wedding Mass was made even more meaningful by the presence of Bishop Monforton, a longtime family friend of Amy’s, and Father Hipp, Amy and Sonngy’s friend from Georgia. Accompanied by a full string ensemble and choir, Amy walked down the long aisle to meet her groom, Sonngy. After the beautiful nuptials mass, the newlyweds rode to their reception in style! I love the expression on their faces as they rolled down the window and waved to us on the way to the reception. Sacramental joy!
From downtown Detroit, we made our way to bustling Birmingham, where The Townsend Ballroom had been transformed into a dreamy wonderland of soft pinks, lush white florals, and twinkling lights. The romantic design created the perfect backdrop for the party! Amy and Sonngy made an epic entrance at the reception and the night kicked off with sweet toasts, cake cutting, and tearful dances. Following the night’s events, we snuck away for one final adventure! Just a few blocks away, Amy’s wonderful mother arranged for the downtown Birmingham marquee to read, “Just Married! Congratulations Amy and Sonngy!” We hurried through the lively streets as cars honked and strangers cheered for the happy couple. I love how the images give an old Hollywood feel, very classic and glamorous! It was the perfect way to end an extraordinary wedding day, complete with one of Isaac’s signature “post-game” interviews as Amy and Sonngy reflected on the joy of becoming husband and wife.
Congratulations, Amy and Sonngy! We are so happy for you! May God be with you always.
