Editorial Engagement Photos at The Chicago Art Institute | Alissa and Charlie

Alissa and Charlie’s love story began long before their engagement session at the iconic Art Institute of Chicago.

As high school and college sweethearts, Alissa and Charlie are now stepping into an exciting new season of life: engagement! When I asked what some of their favorite things to do together were, they mentioned how they really cherish the sweet, everyday moments of life. Sharing a life in the big city, quality time, and Mass and brunch on Sundays were just a few of their favorite pastimes.

We had a fantastic evening together for their engagement session, exploring all that the incredible Art Institute of Chicago and it’s gardens had to offer. It was my first time in The South Garden and it felt like stepping into a little slice of serenity, tucked amongst one of the busiest streets in the city, Michigan Ave. I highly recommend photos in the gardens to any future engaged couples!

Both Alissa and Charlie have such calm and genuine personalities. Being in their presence made me feel instantly comfortable, like I was spending the evening with two friends. One thing I especially loved observing from behind the camera was the admiration and respect they have for one another. Even after so many years together, their love still feels sweet and exciting. When you find the person that you’re meant to walk through life with, you can walk confidently into whatever life has ahead!

We are so excited to photograph their wedding next summer at another iconic location, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on Notre Dame’s campus! Thank you, Alissa and Charlie, for such a wonderful evening. I loved getting to know you both even more and cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with you!
