A Catholic Traditional Latin Mass Wedding | Mary Kelly & Michael

Mary Kelly and Michael chose to have their nuptial wedding mass be a traditional Catholic Latin Mass and it was beyond heavenly!

The words and prayers of the Latin mass wedding liturgy have so much power and beauty! The focus was completely on the union and the sacrament. Catholic Latin wedding masses also begin with the couple saying their vows right after the processional! I actually love this as the couple begins the mass together as married!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mary Kelly and Michael through a mutual friend and am so grateful for their friendship! They are two of the kindest and most genuine people, and it was an honor to photograph their spring engagement photos and beautiful fall wedding last November.

After the most stunning Latin wedding mass, we went to a nearby park for the most dreamy golden hour photographs! Even in November, we were still able to catch some of that lovely light. The night continued with a reception at the American Italian Club in Kenosha, Wisconsin with a night full of family, joy, Italian food, and lots of dancing!

Read some of their story of how they met and discerned marriage below! It is one of my favorites. From Mary Kelly:

“My husband and I met through CatholicMatch in August 2017. The day he messaged me, I was planning to delete my account, but resisted when my older sister encouraged me to just continue the account – ‘it only takes one!’ – she said. After 2 weeks of conversing, Michael generously drove 7 hours from Cleveland, Ohio to Kenosha, WI for us to meet! To this day, we both remember the profound peace there was in our first ‘hello’. We began our time together in front of the Blessed Sacrament at a nearby chapel and from there, we had fruitful conversations while showing him my hometown!

We were married 3 years later on November 7, 2020, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Kenosha, WI with the Traditional Latin Mass! The beauty and reverence we experienced at the altar was something we will truly never forget. Facing away from the people with our eyes fixated on our Lord, side-by-side, we felt His presence so deeply and intimately. How miraculous it was to enter the vocation of marriage with such a solemn and timeless mass!”

I just LOVE a portrait of the newly married couple on the steps on their church!

Mary Kelly and Michael, may God bless you both always!
