On a sunny, July morning, Eileen got ready in her childhood bedroom with mom by her side. After the jewelry was fastened and perfume added, Dad came up to see his beautiful daughter for the first time in her wedding dress. Eileen’s mother looked on with pride. It was one of my many favorite moments of their incredible day. Right before we left the room, Dad knelt down to help Eileen put on her wedding shoes. Behind every incredible bride are parents who loved and sacrificed so much. This sweet moment was one of the many that made Eileen and Nick’s day a very special one.
Eileen and Nick were married at St. Mary’s in Elm Grove, Wisconsin and the beautiful mass had an extra special element! Nick’s uncle is a priest and he gave an incredible homily about the history of marriage, beauty, and how how much fruit a holy marriage can bring when we call upon God for his help.
Eileen and Nick were extra detail oriented with their planning which I absolutely love as a photographer! When couples have a vision for how they want their day to feel, it really helps me unlock my full creativity to fulfill that vision. After a fun, dried lavender exit from the church, we drove to downtown Milwaukee for their wedding photos at St. Francis De Sales Seminary. The sun peaked out as we arrived and we even had a chance to sneak down to the beachfront to get some portraits with the Milwaukee skyline!
Their reception was hosted at the charming venue, The Filament in downtown Milwaukee, decorated with bud vases and pastel colors. Eileen’s father and their matron of honor and best man gave incredibly touching speeches that had everyone in tears of laughter. After some dreamy sunset pictures along the Milwaukee River, the dance floor was packed with nearly every guest, closing out such a wonderful celebration!
Congratulations, Eileen and Nick! Your day was one of my favorites of 2023, not just because it was beautiful, but because of who you two are as people. Thank you for letting us share in your beautiful wedding!
