Christine and Rob’s wedding day was classic and elegant in every way, but also personal and full of little moments that made everything feel real and grounded.
The sweet couple got ready just a few floors apart in downtown Evanston and their first look happened high above the city on a private balcony. We try our best to make first looks feel as organic as possible and I was so excited to find this little balcony, tucked to the side of the hotel! They spent time talking, just the two of them, enjoying a rare and quiet moment before the hustle of the day kicked off!
Afterwards, we headed to Loyola’s lakefront campus, Christine’s alma mater, for wedding party and couple portraits. It was the perfect spot off of Lake Michigan, tying together a Chicago feel with classic architecture.
The wedding Mass was at St. Alphonsus Church in Chicago, and it was such a treat to visit, yet another stunning Catholic church in Chicago! The church itself is beautiful, but what really stood out was the music. Christine and Rob had a full choir, and they were incredible. The kind of music that gives you goosebumps and makes the whole church feel alive. It was such a reverent, joyful nuptial mass that was truly centered on the sacrament.
Their reception at the Halim Time & Glass Museum was unlike anything we’ve seen before, our first reception with stained glass! The venue is part art gallery, part museum which made for such a fun guests experience! The guests were surrounded by stained glass from all over the world, sipping their drinks during cocktail hour.
Before we packed up, we wandered one last time with them through the museum’s quiet hallways for a few final portraits. It was the perfect closing to a full, beautiful day for a beautiful couple!
Christine and Rob, thank you for trusting us to capture your wedding. It was such an honor to witness you entering into the powerful sacrament of marriage!
